Our Story

“Many of the best things in life are free: the splendor of a sunrise, the rapture of wide-open spaces, and the exhilarating sight of a herd of cows with their calves just born in the spring. True happiness comes from watching your horses and cattle graze in the hills, and your children grow tall in the sun.” | Anonymous

In 2016, Tanner and Eve Tipton were given the opportunity to relocate to the family ranch in Pocasset, OK. The first couple of years were spent restoring the family residence that sits on the home place. The next challenge would be bringing back to life the cattle operation that once existed during the 1980’s, initiated by Hart Wampler. After great-grandpa Wampler had passed, the land was rented out for many years.

Full of hopes and dreams, today’s journey began with 25 head of Angus cows in 2018. Wanting to help the business succeed, Tanner’s older brother, Dr. Ty Tipton and his wife Jessica, became partners in the ranch. Through the years, the team has been able to build the herd to near full capacity of black Angus cows. Trying to set themselves up for success, they have focused on using Gardiner Angus Genetics, the premier Angus breeder in America. To this day, that is by far one of the most important decisions they have made.

Though they never set out to sell direct-to-consumer, the standard cow-calf way of life wasn’t feasible for a few young ranchers in today’s economy. After selling a few sides of beef to different customers, it was evident that this needed to be the next goal. Since then, more focus has been placed on breeding quality cattle that are grass & pasture-raised throughout their life, with the calves being finished out on a high-quality grain for excellent marbling and flavor. It is Tanner and Eve’s hope that everyone can have the confidence to buy beef without the fear of not knowing exactly where it originated.

It is called to their mind often, that the ranch could not survive without the help of many different people. From family & friends to neighbors & strangers, all are necessary in the maintaining of this operation, which has truly been a blessing from God.

Today, the couple has two young boys, Tate and Tell. The boys can be found roaming the homestead, generally driving their truck, hauling tools to wherever needed, playing in the garden, riding horses, or fishing. Let’s just say Dad is very happy to be raising extra ranch hands! Tanner and Eve pray the boys will learn to value hard-work and responsibility, and a genuine kindness towards all life, while growing up on the ranch.
